How did we get our start?
Geoff designed the Keywing key turner to help his Dad, which won the Design Council UK Spark Award and £65,000 of funding from charity Versus Arthritis.
Where are you based?
Geoff and Alan design and test all dext products in their home town of Brisbane, Australia. All manufacturing is undertaken in the United Kingdom, which ensures a high level of quality and consistency.

After witnessing my father struggling with his keys and unable to open his shed, I set out to create a solution.
That product was the Keywing key turner, which won the Design Council UK Spark Award, Good Design Award and £65,000 of funding from charity Versus Arthritis.
The success of the Keywing was the spark that fuelled me to establish dext and design more products that solve the daily challenges faced by people with poor dexterity.

TURN KEYS WITH EASE: The Keywing key turner creates a cap ‘thumb turn’, reducing the need to pinch and providing extra leverage so that less strength is required to hold and turn a key, helping to ease hand and wrist pain. Helpful gadgets for Parkinson’s patients and those with weak or sore hands.
FIND KEYS WITH EASE: The range of attractive vibrant colors removes the frustration of guessing ‘which key is which’ and helps aid senior citizens with easily identifiable keys so you don’t have to fumble through key after key.
GRIP KEYS WITH EASE: The comfortable dimpled domes provide a firm grip assist, increasing control and safety to avoid dropping keys at the door, while the nylon body creates a ‘warm’ touch point for cold fingers. Designed as disability aids, ALS assistive devices, Parkinson’s aids, and hand tremor aids for confident daily living.
USE KEYS WITH EASE: The Keywing slides in and out of pockets effortlessly, thanks to the slim and lightweight design. It’s quick and easy to attach to your key with a clip-on design and adhesive pads – there’s no need to remove the keyring, and robust clips keep the turner firmly in place.
VERSATILE: The Keywing is suitable for flat ‘yale’ style keys (also known as cylinder rim lock keys), including both square and circular headed keys. Please note that it’s not suitable for mortice lock keys, chubb keys, or car keys.
